Second World War Veteran Students

  • Note: 16 May 1945: Committee on veteran student recommends that faculty arrange courses and tutorial classes to assist "fully qualified veteran students to enter their courses; "that students who wish to accelerate their programs be able to do so in three years; that veteran students with disabilities and those who served overseas be accommodated in the Beaverbrook residence, if required; that counselling and advising services be available and maintained (SM6 29). Previously, President Gregg has been advising students and then "taken in hand by some member of the Faculty" (SM6 (19 Feb 1945): 24). Veterans Affairs to grant $150 per student for "each discharged man or woman in attendance at Canadian Universities." Outline of facilities to which the University generally agrees (SM6 30-33).
St. George Scholarship
