10 Oct 1944: Brigadier Milton F. Gregg, V.C. is approved as President of the University
after Dr. MacKenzie's departure. President Gregg states in his acceptance that although " he had
no personal amitions in the academic field, he was anxious to interpret the wishes of the Senate,
to make suggestions to them at times, some of which might be impetuous" (SM6 12-13).
16 May 1945: Brigadier Gregg given Honourary Degree of Doctor of Laws (SM6 28).
