Note
Senate Minutes mention only the name of the scholarship, not the donor or for what
purpose. The President's Report states that the late Honourable Mr. Fleming was from
Woodstock, NB, and bequeathed $2,000 for a scholarship " in aid of some deserving student in
the Counties of Carleton and Victoria." The first scholarship was awarded to James B. Bedell of
Woodstock. (PR 1928-1929: 139),
