"'We welcome again into this place His Excellency, Sir Howard Douglas, first chancellor of this University' declared Dr. C. McN. Steeves '05 in a ceremony in the main hall of the Arts Building on May 12 when a memorial stained glass window [to the left of the main entrance] depicting Sir Howard was unveiled" (AN 3.5: 3).
